Caren Bright, Executive Director 

Through her faith in the Lord, Caren has overcome homelessness, domestic abuse, and extreme poverty. She began Pamper Lake Highlands in response to the Lord’s call to minister to local, low-income women. The ministry started with diaper distribution and has grown tremendously to include a variety of classes for both women and children, counseling, and other services.

Caren is also an author and tells her amazing life story and walk with the Lord in her book, 50 Dates with the Lord



Sherrill Crow Ilkenhans , Director of Social Work

Sherrill has had a lifelong passion for working with children and families. After obtaining a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, she spent over 20 years working with children in the foster care system. Sherrill has also enjoyed serving others through her involvement in her children’s schools and through her membership at Watermark Community Church. She has lived in Lake Highlands since 1997 and is proud to call this community her home.

Sherrill joined Pamper Lake Highlands in February of 2017 as the Director of Social Services.  Sherrill is excited to work in a program that takes a proactive approach to working with families to stop generational poverty and oppression.

When not at Pamper Lake Highlands, she enjoys traveling, the theatre, festivals, and spending time with her own super-sized family! 

Ghazaleh Farrar, ESL Director

“Ghaz” has been an educator for 11 years and her passion has always been helping students learn English. She spoke no English until second grade, and she still remembers how helpless she felt and how empowering it was once she grasped command of the English language.

Ghazaleh’s goal is to track progress and growth with each of our students to ensure our ESL program is working and to help them reach their full potential.

Kelly Musgrave, Learning Center Director 

Kelly has a teaching degree from Texas A&M University and is certified to teach early childhood through 6th grade for general, bilingual, and English as a Second language (ESL) education.  She has been a Lake Highlands resident since 2007.

Kelly knows that early intervention in the lives of at-risk children living in poverty is crucial to their future academic success, and she is using her experience and training to enhance the education of the children that Pamper Lake Highlands is serving.



Dori Wright, Visitor Care Coordinator

Dori is serving in ministry after being called to share the love of Jesus with those in her community. Her professional background includes graduating from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors in Finance and working in consulting and non-profit environments.  She is a cancer survivor, dedicated wife and mother, and she enjoys connecting people in an all-inclusive manner to ensure that strong and healthy relationships take priority.

Dori serves PLH by accepting and organizing on-site donations, providing facility tours, working closely with volunteers, distributing donated resources to PLH students weekly, and celebrating our volunteers and students.

Yazmin Gonzalez, Site Coordinator

Yazmin and her husband both grew up in Lake Highlands, graduating from Lake Highlands High School.  They have three children, one boy and two girls.  Yazmin met our director, Caren Bright, when she was 10 years old.  When Caren started Pamper Lake Highlands, Yazmin came on board as a volunteer and has been a faithful contributor ever since.

As Site Coordinator for PLH, Yazmin coordinates with the Children’s Ministry Director when needed.  She also oversees donations of diapers and other items, inputs data, calls students regarding attendance, and serves as English/Spanish translator.



Lacy McGough, Administrator

Lacy McGough, wife of Councilmember Adam McGough, currently serves as Administrator for Pamper Lake Highlands as well as serving alongside her husband in initiatives throughout both District 10 and the City of Dallas.  She is also mother of three boys, who all attend Scofield Christian School.  Lacy, born and raised in Conroe, Texas, graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelors in Hospitality Administration.  Her journey then led her to Dallas, where she was the Director of Social Events for a number of entities, including the Dallas Museum of Art.

Lacy continues to be committed to serving alongside neighborhoods across the city and to build the best quality of life and opportunities for those who often do not have a voice.

Jill Johnson, Donor Management

Jill is originally from Arkansas, where she graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Human Environmental Sciences.  She lives in the Merriman Park Elementary area with her husband Carlton, who grew up in Lake Highlands, and their two daughters.  Starting in 2010. she took some time off from her professional career in product development to spend more time with her young children.  She joined Pamper Lake Highlands in January 2017 as assistant to our Executive Director and she now serves PLH by managing our donors.

Jill loves the mission of PLH and the hope that it brings to the women and children impacted!
